Slope

Slope mapping shows how gentle or steep the land is across a property. It gives an immediate sense of how the terrain feels to walk, work and build on.

This is essential for understanding access, usability and risk. Steeper areas can limit access and have increased erosion risk, while flatter ground is typically more suitable for building and cultivation.

Slope also influences how water moves across the land. Steeper ground encourages faster runoff, while gentler slopes allow water to slow, spread and infiltrate more effectively.

Steep land is usually less expensive and if the correct strategies are employed it can become very productive.
